    Abstract

The paper describes a computer-supported, impartial method of priority determination for young forest stand tending in homogenous units of forest planning process. The priority of tending activity was determined by a method of influential factor evaluation. Influential factors are related to rational management of using founds. One of the method’s most important processes is determining the significance of influential factors, which are made by pairwise comparisons. The priority determination of young forest tending activity is adapted to modern Geographic Information System tools, which enable quick and consistence data processing for large areas of forest stands. The basic unit of priority determination was the forest section, which comprises young forest, stands. The results are shown in tabular and map form. The method is more accurate in cases of consistent input data sources. The case study and model testing was carried out in the Nazarje forest unit in the Nazarje forest region unit.
