Abstract

This paper discusses forest vulnerability, which represents one of the bases for directing the encroachment upon forests. We prepared two models for the assessment of forest vulnerability. A model based on a landscapeÉecological evaluation of forest represents the premise. The forest is the most complex landscapeÉecological element and as such is in great codependency with all other factors; this codependency evidences itself perfectly through the landscapeÉecological assessment. Since there exists a possibility for a comparison of results, we also developed a second model, which proceeds from the criteria used for the assessment of forest functions.
