Abstract
In paper, studies of seasonal dynamics of xylogenesis are briefly summarized. Methods for investigating of seasonal dynamics of cambial activity and xylem growth ring formation are introduced. Several specific and non-specific tools are available for sampling of small blocks of cambial and xylem tissue. Pinning method is based upon minute injury of cambium and on studies of its response to wounding with needle. Dendrometers are non-destructive instruments that continuously measure variations in radial dimensions of tree tissues.
